Housing for the Disabled
The Tomorrow’s Home
Foundation provides downpayment assistance to families that have a disabled
family member. This Universal Access Grant offers an opportunity for the family
to have a home of their own that fits their needs. It also provides the
financial stability that homeownership brings. The family is strengthened by
the pride of ownership and a stable place to live.
The downpayment assistance grant can be combined with
money from other organizations.
In this picture, the Winnen's of Green Bay celebrate their first day in
their
new modular home. Their youngest daughter, Brandi, requires a powered
wheelchair for mobility and this home features a "no-step" entrance at the front
door and has no barriers throughout the home. The family was able to leave
a rented two-story home which had previously required Mrs. Winnen to carry
Brandi up the stars each night to her bedroom.
